NTN Europe, a global leader in bearing solutions, is leveraging its expertise in the mining and quarrying industry to launch ROX. This new solution completes one of the most extensive ranges on the market.

ROX is a new-generation spherical roller bearing, developed for conveyors in mines and quarries. A unique solution on the market, ROX is the only spherical roller bearing equipped with double metal deflectors welded to the cage, a patented technology that durably protects the inside of the bearing against external pollution.

Perfectly interchangeable with standard open bearings of the same size, ROX is designed to operate in particularly demanding environments: abrasive dust, mud, vibrations, shocks, and strong temperature variations (-40 °C to +200 °C). Its nitrided metal deflectors effectively block the entry of dust and debris. Nitriding considerably improves the resistance to impacts, which are very present in mines and quarries. The absence of contact with the outer ring guarantees zero friction and allows misalignment up to 2° as well as clearance control.

Made in Europe, ROX is a high value-added product, designed to meet the specific requirements of extraction and heavy industrial environments.

The tests carried out on the product have shown a minimum lifespan that is double that of standard solutions. Thanks to optimised grease retention, ROX also makes it possible to more than halve the frequency of re-lubrication. ROX guarantees less maintenance, fewer unplanned downtime and therefore increased productivity.

A solution proven by customers in the sector

ROX equips conveyors in quarries in Poland, which are confronted with a particularly demanding environment: humidity, mud and limestone dust, which is very abrasive for the bearing. With ROX, the lifespan has been increased by 5 times, grease retention has tripled and the number of annual shutdowns has gone from 6 to just 1.
