The 2nd edition of the Direct Gear Design book is now available at CRC Press and Amazon. This book presents a unique alternative to traditional gear design, the Direct Gear Design method. This method has been successfully implemented in a wide variety of custom gear transmissions over the past 40 years. The results of its implementation include the maximized gear drive performance, increased transmission load capacity and efficiency, and reduced size and weight. The 2nd edition of the book is significantly upgraded in comparison to the 1st edition. Practically every chapter of the book has been revised and updated with new results of studies of the Direct Gear Design approach.
